Birchbox September Opening!

So I decided that I wanted to give Birchbox a go, for those of you that don't know what a Birchbox is, it is a monthly subscription beauty box full of 5 personalized beauty samples for you to try. I was so excited when I received the September box that I couldn't wait to get it open and see what I received so I decided to write a post all about what I received and my first impressions on things.
Even though this is my first box I think the design is gorgeous and what's better than this message to make you smile.

Inside my box I received 5 samples that ranged in sizes, I feel that these are really good sizes of samples, enough product to really give it a try and find out if you like it or not, I always hate it when it's a tiny foil package with barely anything in there so you aren't able to fully try it so I was really happy with the sizes I received.

♥100% Pure- Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream| An instant pick me up that rescues the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. This is all natural and vegan which I think is great, it's really good to know you're using something that is good for your skin and good to the planet. Full size- $26/£17

♥BioRepublic Skincare- Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Sheet Mask| Hydrating, aloe packed fiber face mask   Perfect for refreshing skin. This mask seems so easy to use, just a few easy steps, apply to your face, leave on for 20 minutes and then simply remove mask, there is no need for rinsing. This seems like a quick and easy bit of skin pampering. Full size- $14.50/£7.60

♥Davines- This is a sea salt spray| Styling spray to give you beachy texture and volume without being sticky, I'm not very keen on the smell, I know it's not going to smell great as its salt but it really smells like celery. I'm also super disappointed this came in the September box because this would have been perfect during the summer months but it feels a bit late now for a beach look. Full size- $30/£14.82

♥Japonesque- Velvet touch eye shadow Shade 2|  A richly pigmented shade that balances a light green hue with a hint of shimmer. This seems like an amazing shade, I'm really excited to use this one, when I did s swatch it was really rich, I feel like this is going to apply amazingly. Full size- $12/£5.93

♥Tocca- Esfoliante da corpo Giulietta| Sugar based exfoliator with crushed olive granules which gently exfoliate. This smells amazing, it's Pink Tulip and Green Apple, it's quite sweet and floral but so good. Full size- $38/£18.77

I'm so happy with my first Birchbox, I can't wait to try all of these and I'm very excited to receive next months one too! You can order your monthly Birchbox online for $14/£12.95 a month!

Autumn Is Here!

I know that I am most certainly not alone when I say that I am beyond excited that Autumn is here! I am so looking forward to cozy nights, fuzzy socks, crisp mornings , Lush winter baths and candles that smell so christmassy! I think my excitement showed when I went shopping last weekend and picked up my first autumn candle in a "Mulled Apple" scent, it was the first thing I spotted when I walked into Pottery Barn and as soon as I smelt it I couldn't put it down, I honestly wandered around the whole shop smelling it as I browsed their new winter things, I'm sure I looked very odd but I just loved the smell!!
I'm not a fan of really strong scents and I find that some of the Yankee candles and Bath and Body Works candles can be very over powering and strong but I loved that this had a more distinctive subtle scent, it's quite a large size and is beautifully decorated with dried apple slices and gold glitter twigs, I love it!
With autumn comes a huge wave of pumpkin lovers and companies trying to turn all their products into something pumpkin related, am I the only person who isn't a fan of pumpkin? I definitely much prefer an apple, cinnamon spicy scent which is why I'm so glad and I think I fell in love with this candle!
I've already enjoyed a cozy evening in my pjs and fuzzy socks, with this candle burning and a salted caramel hot chocolate, I'm excited for so many more nights like this!

First Impressions: Too Faced Love Flush Blush!

Too Faced recently released a new long lasting blush range and they are the cutest thing I have ever seen! The long lasting blush is supposed  to last up to 16 hours of wear with its smudge proof formula and comes in 6 different shades:

♥ Baby Love
♥ I Will Always Love You
♥ Love Hangover
♥ How Deep Is Your Love
♥ Justify Your Love
Your Love is King

It's clear from the packaging and their names that this new collection is based all around love and I really do love this collection! All 6 have really rich pigment that sits weightlessly on your skin, it's a very soft application and blends really well! I love the fact that the packaging looks so cute in the heart shape and comes with a really handy mirror inside. My favourite shade is Your Love Is King as I prefer a darker blush and I can't wait to get my hands on this one!

GBP: £18
CAD: $37
USD: $26

Lush Sakura Bath Bomb Review!

I always find that when I shop at Lush I can get very distracted by the way things look as apposed to the smell, I recently chose the Sakura bath bomb in a Lush replacement order because I thought it looked super cute and I knew it had a some what floral scent so I thought I would love it! When I opened this I really wasn't sure about the scent and my immediate reaction was that I disliked it, it smelt very powdery and very floraly and was so over powering! So I decided to wrap it back up until I could face it.

I thought that I would use it up seeing as I wasn't very keen on this, when I unwrapped it I didn't feel too bad about the smell and felt like this could be a nice bath! When I popped it in the bath I was so disappointed that it sank! This is the second time in the last two weeks that one of my bath bombs has sunk, does this happen regularly to anyone else? I don't understand! Aside from the disappointing lack of buoyancy this didn't really do much for my bath, obviously because its white there was no colour and I didn't notice the bath water feeling silky or soft like some other bath bombs, I sadly won't be hurrying out to get this one again! Although it did leave my skin smelling very fresh for a long time and I ended up not totally hating the smell!

End of Summer Favourites!

I know that we are already 2 days into September but I still wanted to talk about my favourites from last month! I have been making a huge effort to use the products I have as my collection is becoming so huge and I felt like I should just take the time to enjoy using what I have!

♥ Imperial Leather Comforting Marshmallow Shower Cream-  OMG I love this! It smells amazing, I know that Imperial Leather has come out with a full sweets range that has scents such as fruit salad and lemon sherbet but my favourite is the marshmallow! It smells really creamy and sweet, i'm not sure if it smells completely like marshmallow, more like a hint of marshmallow but it still smells so edible and delicious! It makes my bath super bubbly, even though it says it's a shower cream I love using it as bubble bath, and leaves your skin feeling so so soft! I can't wait to get my hands on more of these!

♥ Neutrogena Wave- I have had this vibrating cleanser for a while now but I only started using it recently as my skin was feeling a bit rubbish and I totally fell in love with it again! It's so easy to use, all you do is place on one of the pads and add some water then switch it on and scrub your face! It came with so many extra pads, I haven't even got through most of them yet! It just makes my skin feel so clean and fresh and I love the fact it is pink and so cute!

♥ Zoella Foam Sweet Foam Cleansing Shower Gel-  I already posted a review about this on my blog but I loved it so much that I wanted to feature it on my favourites post! I love the smell of this, it's very fruity and floral almost like perfume in a shower gel form! I always end up using my shower gels as bubble bath and this one foams up really well! I can't stop using this and the packaging is so so cute!

♥ Lush Lovely Jubblies Cream- I know this says on the tub that it's for your breasts but this does not have to be exclusively for that area, it's a great firming cream and can be used on any area, I even like to use this on my face! It smells very floral but yay for firming cream!

Closet Clear Out!

I decided with autumn just around the corner that I would have a huge clear out of my wardrobe! I had been thinking about it for a while because I had started to acquire piles of clothes that wouldn't fit in my wardrobe or my chest of drawers and it became so messy just having all these piles laying around so I decided that it would be a good time to have a clear out! I know for sure that i'm one of those people who likes to hoard clothes, I try to convince myself that I need to keep clothes even if I haven't worn them for ages! So after hearing lots of people around me doing it I decided that I needed to to stop being so silly and just clear out my wardrobe! I do think its super important to donate to charity as much as you can and I would encourage everyone to to have a clean out of their clothes and donate them if you can! I thought it would be really important to make some rules for myself so that I could make good choices when picking what to keep and what to give away. My first rule was that if I hadn't worn it in at least a year then it for sure it has to go, then once I had got rid of the clothes I hadn't worn in a year I decided that I should bring it down to the last 6 months, obviously with season changes and things I could go easier on myself and allow myself to decided whether I care about it hugely or not!I know that sometime I keep things that no longer fit me either, no matter how much I liked it, if it's not the right size then it must go! Below I listed some of the pieces I decided to part with and some tips to deal with your own closet clear out!

TOP TIPS!

- Pick a time frame for yourself, if you haven't worn it in that time frame its more than likely you will not gravitate and pick to wear that item again so there is no need to keep it!
- When it comes to questioning whether to keep it or not, think about would you care if that item was taken away from you or think about only being allowed a suitcase worth of clothes, would it be your first pick? Would you mind if you had to leave it behind? Then make your decision from there!
- If it no longer fits, too big or too small then it has to go!
- You are always going to keep buying new clothes, as seasons change and new things come in fashion and other things go out, remind yourself that you can always but more new clothes, and if you clear out enough then you can have the room to buy new clothes!
